Aspen Meadows Resort, Colorado
The recently renovated guest suites pay a primary color homage to the Bauhaus design roots. Blending nature, art and authenticity on 40 acres of rolling meadows and beautiful groves in the West End of Aspen, their accommodations carefully respect the work of original designer Herbert Bayer while also meeting the expectations of the modern-day traveler. Every suite is designed with living, working, and sleeping areas to accommodate everyone from business travelers to families.
Michael Suomi of Manhattan-based Suomi Design Works was commissioned to embrace the resort’s storied history and beautifully reimagine the interiors. The new design heavily features reds, blues and yellows to represent the Bauhaus’ original primary color theory and adheres to the movement’s geometric principles. Inspired by classic Bauhaus design and décor, the recently renovated, 98 spacious guest suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows and contemporary furnishings.
